Greetings Mr. Darren Woods,

I’m writing to you to discuss the state of something important. The Earth. The Earth is everything we have. It is everything beautiful, and everything ugly. Everything good and everything evil. It is me and it is you. I wonder, have you ever felt the breeze caress your face on a beautiful summer day? Have you ever walked past the same tree twice and noticed the different vibrant colors of the leaves in the fall? Have you ever smelled the scent of a fresh lilac? These beautiful yet simple experiences are gifts to us from the Earth and further connect us to it. What have you gifted to the Earth recently? My guess is not a whole lot. Your life’s work is centered around lining your pockets through the poisoning of the land that has offered us everything. You drill through the skin of the Earth and suck its blood like a vampire in order to power your labor machine. You poison my children’s chance to smell the same lilacs I smelled, to watch the same pink and orange sunsets I watched. I hope you have enjoyed your riches because your payment will be collected after death. When I die I will be buried and the ecosystem will absorb my body as the cycle of life moves on. When you’re buried, the ground will spit you back up like a bite of a rotten fruit. Through the flames of a burning forest your name will be seen. Over the wheezing coughs of school children your name will be heard. But I’m sure for now you are proud to be Darren Woods CEO of Exxonmobil.
